The card for the woman who has always known exactly who she is.
Canadian artist Chris Tutty created Blondie — a bold, raw, Andy Warhol-inspired tribute to one of the most fearless women in the history of rock and roll. Debbie Harry stares out from a dark, textured background in gold, black, and deep red — wild platinum hair, dark lips, eyes that have seen everything and fear nothing. Bold vintage propaganda-style typography blazes down the left side:
BE FEARLESS. BE STRONG. BE YOU. The world NEEDS YOU.
This card is a tribute to both Debbie Harry and the legendary Andy Warhol — two icons whose paths crossed in one of the most remarkable moments in the history of art and technology. In 1985, Andy Warhol used a Commodore Amiga computer to digitally paint a portrait of Debbie Harry live on stage at the Lincoln Center in New York, at the Amiga’s public launch event — one of the first high-profile demonstrations of digital art on a personal computer. The files were lost for decades, only recovered in 2014 from old floppy disks. A moment that changed art history, hiding on a floppy disk for thirty years.
For the fearless woman. The original. The one who never needed anyone’s permission to be exactly who she was. For the birthday that deserves a card as bold, as fierce, and as unforgettable as Blondie herself.
